nOscars Woman of the year award 2018
We are delighted to announce that Salamander Associate Longret Kwardem is the winner of the Naz Project 2018 nOscars woman of the year award
The nOscars have taken place since 2012. They highlight: “the significant gap between the sexual health outcomes of minority communities compared to the general population.”
Longret Kwardem is working with the Salamander-supported 4MNet UK-wide group of women living with HIV who have been trained as trainers of mentor mothers. Longret leads the peer research work on this programme, which ensures that issues of priority to the 4MNet members themselves are being evaluated throughout the programme.
Longret is the second 4MNet member to be short-listed for this presitigious award. In 2017, Longret’s colleague Salamander Associate Angelina Namiba, who is the Coordinator of the 4MNet programme, was short-listed for the same award.
Huge congratulations to Longret for winning this award and huge thanks to the NAZ Project for this wonderful initiative.
