2nd International Men Engage Symposium

Salamander Trust at MenEngage 2014

Salamander Trust is delighted to be involved in the 2nd International MenEngage Symposium in Delhi, November 2014

Our Stepping Stones flagship training programme on gender, HIV, communication and relationship skills, is featured in two separate settings.

“Seeking Safety”: Stepping Stones in Malawi

Our film, made by Dr Dominique Chadwick with our partners COWLHA in Malawi, features as only one of four main-track films in the health & well-being section of the Film Festival.

Steven Iphani from COWLHA Malawi travelled to Delhi to present and talk about the making of this film, the associated participatory film training workshop and the great work of COWLHA Malawi in its adaptation of “Stepping Stones” to reduce gender-based violence experienced by COWLHA members.

It was funded by the World Bank Logica Programme and with background research and evaluation support from the Feinstein Center at Tufts University.

This adaptation of the manual for settings experiencing conflict through small arms proliferation is due for publication by Strategies for Hope shortly.

Baron Oron, Founding Director of NESSA has travelled to Delhi to make this presentation.

It highlights the value of new research in inter-personal neurobiology to support behaviour change.
