We welcome back Longret Kwardem, Co-Director of 4M Mentor Mothers Network CIC. In this episode, Longret highlights the importance of women’s meaningful involvement as equal partners in all the decision-making processes that affect our lives, in order to achieve an effective, ethical and sustainable response.

In our 12th podcast, we bring you Longret Kwardem, based in the UK, who is a Co-Director of the 4MNet Mentor Mothers CIC. She is also a Salamander Trust Associate and a steering group member of the UK Community Advisory Board (UK-CAB). She is a peer researcher who has been involved with various peer-led research projects and coordinates a local peer support group. She is also a member of the Catwalk for Power and Supporting Women with HIV Information Network (SWIFT). In 2018 Longret was awarded the title of Woman of the Year by the NAZ Foundation in their annual nOscars. Here Longret talks about what peer support work entails, how much it means to women living with HIV, and the huge funding challenges facing grassroots women’s rights organisations such as 4M. In our 10th podcast, we are so happy to introduce Rahayu Rahmat from Malaysia, who founded Sinar Sofia, and who is on the Board of the International Community of Women living with HIV Asia Pacific. Rahayu talks about the SRHR of women living with HIV in Malaysia, the challenges they face with healthcare and her priorities for improved quality of life. For our 9th podcast, we are delighted to welcome back Lucy Wanjiku Njenga from Kenya. She first spoke to the WHAVE in January 2019, when she highlighted the restrictions then in place on access to antiretroviral drug Dolutegravir (DTG) for women of reproductive age in Kenya. In this new podcast, Lucy explains how women came together to achieve change and overturn the restriction. She highlights the importance of ensuring women are at the centre of decision-making that affects their lives, and how the WHO Consolidated Guideline on Sexual and Reproductive Health of Women living with HIV supports that.
